Quilts of Honor
Many of the quilts included in the exhibit were crafted by members of Quilts of Honor-a non-profit organization formally established in 2010 under the leadership of Gail Belmont, a Vietnam veteran who played taps for the fallen and did not want any of our veterans to be forgotten.
The mission of Quilts of Honor is to bestow a universal symbol and token of thanks, solace, and remembrance to those who serve in harm’s way to protect and defend our lives and freedoms. Even before Quilts of Honor was established, from 2005-2010, Gail distributed more than 1,000 quilts created and offered by quilters across the nation to honor our veterans.
Quilts of Honor are made by the loving hands of countless volunteers who wish to thank those who have served and to honor their service and sacrifice.
